      IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

It has been brought to our attention that our name, 4 Paws Animal Rescue,
is very similar to the name of another MI/OH area animal rescue that has been operating
for almost 8 years in good standing.  While we enjoy a close working relationship
with other rescue groups,  we are not related to nor directly connected with any other rescue
--and we feel the similarity in names may inadvertently imply this.
As a result, we are legally changing the name of our rescue,
which will be effective February 1, 2012.
Our mission and our values will NOT change, and the name change will NOT affect our
normal operations in any way.  We deeply appreciate all of our supporters and volunteers,
and appreciate your continuing support and patience during this transition!
Updates will be ongoing and additional information will be shared as it is available.

Our new name will be :
      4 Keeps Animal Rescue
We feel this name adequately reflects our feeling that pets are 4 keeps !

      • Donate, we are always in need of supplies, we are donation funded, non profit,
      • Volunteer, we always need short & long term foster homes, help at events and help with transporting dogs

Desmond Morris states: "....people who keep dogs live longer on average than those who do not.  This is not some kind of pro-canine campaigning fantasy.  It is a simple medical fact that the calming influence of the company of a friendly pet animal reduces blood pressure and therefore the risk of heart attack."

      ~ MISSING ~

      Picture
Gilligan, a 2 year old male shepherd mix, is missing.  He was last seen with a former foster in the Toledo/Oregon Ohio area.  We have reason to believe he may have been transported out of the area, and it's possible he may have been transferred or taken to an animal shelter, in the Dayton OH area or in Indiana.

Please share his info far and wide, with as many rescue, shelters, transport contacts, and friends as you can.  A reward is offered for his safe return. Contact 4pawsmi@att.net with any information

Dacia   ~ beautiful beagle lab mix

      Picture

Dacia, is a 4 month old (born 9/17/11) beagle/lab mix.  She is a gorgeous unique blonde/tan color with beautiful green eyes.  She is not tiny but not large, she is just right and will probably weigh no more than 30-40 pounds full grown.  She has learned basic commands, is crate trained, and is pretty much housebroken.  Dacia has already been spayed, and is up to date on all her vaccines.   In her spare time, she loves to cuddle with her fostermom and play with her doggy siblings
      .Adoption fee is $250
      Did You Know:
Beagles and Beagle mixes are known for being tremendously friendly with people and other animals, and they generally love children. Beagles mixes are medium-energy dogs and love daily exercise. They are notoriously fond of food, and have a tendency toward obesity.Beagle mixes have all of the good traits of a purebred, often without the genetic health issues due to inbreeding. Best of all, when you adopt a beagle mix, you adopt a one-of-a-kind companion.
Nobody else will have a Beag-a-dor quite like yours!
